Son of an aerospace engineer, Dean Coonradt was born and raised in Southern California. After four years in the Marines, he met his wife, Alice, at college. Together they have four adult children and four grandchildren. Dean has been in ministry for 31 years, pastoring churches in Oklahoma, California, New Mexico and, most recently, at The Well–an independent, interdenominational, church in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam.
His interests include going to the gym, boating, reading and thinking about things related to the spiritual life, politics, and social trends.
Though he is not pastoring at the present time, he still has a desire to speak God’s truth to the church and the world. He hopes to do that through this blog.
But another way of doing that is by books he has written (seen at bottom of the page)–a trilogy of novels. These are an attempt to speak the truth of God through fiction. Three stories told from the perspective of one man:
- Desolate Plain. Olaf Taylor goes to war for his people but finds that the greater battle is within himself.
- Arise, My Soul, Arise. Taylor rebuilds his life after the debacle described in Desolate Plain. While doing so he unintentially becomes a prophet to the American church.
- Spirit of the Times. Taylor is invited to enter the political arena. While trying to promote what is right he comes into conflict with the hidden spiritual forces that have degraded the United States.
